Repair of damaged water pipe on Ratchaprarop Road running


The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration ( BMA ) is draining water from a water channel on Ratchaprarop Road Bangkok following damage caused by a backhoe parts of tap water pipe near Makkasan intersection Wednesday morning . The incident also led to a suspension of tap water in the area.
With road and near the commercial below 30 cm of water , traffic backed up seriously during the morning rush hour. The BMA drainage office urged the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority to repair the tube and sent officials to drain water through Bueng Makkasan and to warn pedestrians away from open drainage holes .
Ratchathewi district director laksa Rojthamrong said Metropolitan Electricity Authority was drilling in the region as it prepared to lay electric wires underground when the accident happened. At press time , officials had managed to stop the water , but were advised motorists to avoid the area and recommend that residents move their belongings to higher ground .
